Area Sales Representative – Animal Health Industry

We’re confidentially recruiting for a leading player in the industry, offering the perfect role for someone passionate about animal health, whether you're transitioning from a veterinary background (nurse, receptionist) or bringing existing sales experience with a flair for science and consultative selling.
This is one of TWO brand new roles and ideally you will be based in either the South East or South West of England.
Salary:
£28,000 OTE £40,000
Commission:
Uncapped monthly 10% commission on growth, annual 5% of the basic salary for hitting group yearly targets. Company car, laptop, mobile phone, company credit card are provided.
About the Role:
This is a dynamic position focused on building and maintaining relationships with veterinary practices across a designated UK territory in the South of England. Reporting to the UK Business Development/Key Account Manager, you’ll also collaborate closely with the Product Manager and Retail/Export Manager.
Key responsibilities include:
- Client Engagement: Managing your diary to achieve 3-4 client contacts daily, with a fortnightly administration and planning day.
- Sales & Education: Promoting premium supplements, medicines, and treatments through presentations, consultations, and support of veterinary teams.
- Strategic Selling: Leveraging technical and commercial knowledge to offer consultative solutions, driving market share growth.
- Relationship Building: Developing connections with Key Opinion Leaders to boost brand awareness.
- CRM Management: Maintaining detailed records to track trends, comply with GDPR, and identify opportunities for growth.
- Collaborative Events: Attending 4+ trade shows annually and supporting trade customers as needed.
This role requires a self-motivated, organised individual with the autonomy to efficiently manage their diary and priorities. The ideal candidate will:
- Be passionate about the animal health industry.
- Have a strong understanding of the veterinary environment or a proven track record in sales with the ability to grasp the science behind premium products.
- Be a strong communicator and relationship builder.
- Demonstrate flexibility, with the ability to tailor working hours to suit client needs.
- Initial training and more frequent office visits will be required during the first three months.
- Standard office visits will be approximately four times per year.
