Are you an experienced sales professional with a strong background in the pet industry? Do you have a passion for high-quality, natural pet food and a proven track record in business development, account management, and driving sales growth within the pet care sector? If so, this exciting opportunity as a Business Development Manager: Pet Industry could be for you.
  
This is a brand-new and exclusive Business Development Manager role with a global brand in one of the fastest-growing pet industry categories. Our client is a market leader in natural and innovative pet nutrition, with brands that are gaining strong traction in Europe. Following their UK launch, they are looking for a talented sales professional with strong business development experience to help grow their UK market share.
  
This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a passionate and talented team, working closely with pet specialty retailers and (in the future) veterinary practices. You will also have international travel opportunities, attending major industry trade shows and collaborating with colleagues across EMEA.
  
As the Business Development Manager: Pet Industry, you will be responsible for building relationships, driving business development, and increasing sales with independent pet retailers across the UK. This is a hands-on, field-based sales role requiring a highly motivated and commercially focused individual with a proven track record in sales, account management, and market expansion within the pet industry.
  
Salary: £37,000 - £42,000 DOE + 25% Quarterly Bonus
Location: South of Nottingham to the Home Counties

The Job:

  • Develop and expand the customer base within pet specialty stores and veterinary practices
  • Identify new business development opportunities to grow sales and brand presence
  • Increase sales, boost brand visibility, and deliver in-store training to retail partners
  • Support distributor sales reps and attend major trade shows (UK and international)
  • Work closely with the UK Country Manager to execute effective business development and sales strategies
What We’re Looking For:
  • 3+ years of field sales experience in the UK pet industry (pet food preferred)
  • Strong industry network and proven business development skills
  • A driven, results-focused individual with a hunter sales mentality
  • Ability to work independently with a high-travel workload (70-80%)
  • Based in the Home Counties or East Midlands, with flexibility for national and international travel
