L.I.L. Tierbedarf GmbH is a rapidly expanding company in the German animal health market, founded in 2024 with a mission to distribute high-quality animal health products, including nutritional supplements, pet pharmaceuticals, and natural pet food.
We are seeking an experienced Country Manager
to lead and drive the growth of L.I.L.'s German operations, ensuring successful product launches and expanding their portfolio in the market. This is an exciting opportunity to play a pivotal role in shaping our client's presence in the country and contributing to the long-term success of the company.
Role Overview:
The Country Manager
will be responsible for the successful launch and ongoing expansion of L.I.L. Tierbedarf GmbH in Germany. You will lead the creation of the company’s commercial operations, managing a growing team and driving business development while ensuring operational excellence.
As a hands-on leader, you will initially work as an individual contributor, directly engaging customers and driving sales, before scaling up the business through strategic hiring and team leadership. Your goal will be to build strong relationships with key stakeholders, oversee financial performance, and ensure sustainable growth.
Key Responsibilities:
- Customer Engagement: Identify and engage the target customer base to create demand for our client's products while independently contributing to sales in the early stages.
- Team Leadership: Build, lead, and develop L.I.L.’s commercial organization in Germany, fostering a customer-centric, inclusive, and results-driven culture.
- Business Development: Design and implement strategies to grow the business, constantly identifying new opportunities in the animal health sector.
- Operational Management: Manage the daily operations of the business, ensuring processes support sustainable growth and efficient execution.
- Relationship Management: Build and maintain strong relationships with stakeholders, including government officials, suppliers, veterinary professionals, and customers.
- Financial Oversight: Manage the budget and financial performance of the German operations, ensuring alignment with strategic goals.
- Collaboration: Coordinate with head offices and future suppliers to ensure accurate reporting, compliance, and organizational integrity.
- A University degree in Veterinary Medicine, Biology, Nutrition, Business Management, or a related field.
- Significant experience in managerial roles within the animal health industry.
- Background in commercial or marketing roles with a focus on animal pharmaceuticals, nutritional products, feed supplements, or pet food is highly advantageous.
- Strong understanding of business strategies and a proven ability to drive growth.
- Exceptional leadership skills with a focus on team collaboration and motivation.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to influence and negotiate effectively.
- Proficiency in German and English is required; knowledge of Spanish and/or Italian is a plus.
- This position is based in Germany with national coverage and a high frequency of travel.
